A Graph Theoretic Model for Complex Network Failure Scenarios

چکیده
If the network topology is modeled by an undirected graph and we consider link failures, then a natural graph theoretic measure of vulnerability is the size of a minimum cut, that is, the minimum number of edges that have to be removed to disconnect the graph, which is called the (edge-)connectivity of the graph. This number, at the same time, is the guaranteed number of edge disjoint paths between any given pair of nodes (by the classical theorem of Menger, see, e.g., [6]).

Estimation of Network Reliability for a Fully Connected Network with Unreliable Nodes and Unreliable Edges using Neuro Optimization
In this paper it is tried to estimate the reliability of a fully connected network of some unreliable nodes and unreliable connections (edges) between them. The proliferation of electronic messaging has been witnessed during the last few years. The acute problem of node failure and connection failure is frequently encountered in communication through various types of networks. We know that a ne...
متن کاملGame-Theoretic Approach for Pricing Decisions in Dual-Channel Supply Chain
In the current study, a dual-channel supply chain is considered containing one manufacturer and two retailers. It is assumed that the manufacturer and retailers have the same decision powers. A game-theoretic approach is developed to analyze pricing decisions under the centralized and decentralized scenarios. First, the Nash model is established to obtain the equilibrium decisions in the decent...
متن کاملOPTIMALIZATION PHASE USING GRAPH MODELLING FOR RELIABLE BUILDING COMPLEXES
During the planning phase of modern, complex, block-structured, large-area located, but still landscape-harmonized health-care buildings, the key is the optimal positioning of the blocks and functions, simultaneously ensuring the most-effective backup-paths for any transportation route failure in the buildings in order to speed up system operation, reduce maintenance costs and especially to imp...
متن کاملRe-configuration of the Relief Network Considering Uncertain Demand and Link Failure in an Earthquake: A Multi-stage Stochastic Programming
Disasters inevitably trigger far-reaching consequences affecting all living things and the environment. Therefore, top managers and decision-makers in disaster management seek comprehensive approaches to evaluate facilities and network preparedness in dealing with the response phase of predicted disaster scenarios in terms of number of casualties, costs, and unmet demands. In this regard, pre...
متن کاملA Network-of-Networks Model for Electrical Infrastructure Networks
Modeling power transmission networks is an important area of research with applications such as vulnerability analysis, study of cascading failures, and location of measurement devices. Graph-theoretic approaches have been widely used to solve these problems, but are subject to several limitations. One of the limitations is the ability to model a heterogeneous system in a consistent manner usin...
